2017 ONESHOT Scholarship Winners

Hello, my name is Breanna Hayman. I’m from Reedsville, OH and currently attending Ohio University. I am a senior majoring in Aviation Management with minors in Business and Communications. After working in an administrative office at Ohio University for 2 years, I have decided to steer my major in the direction of Human Resources while still being around my passion: flying! J

The ONESHOT Scholarship has been a great asset in my education because I had ran out of financial aid for my final semester in college and the scholarship will help compensate for that. The essay that I had to write when I applied for this scholarship was a great personal tool for me. It once again reassured me of my goals and gave me motivation to finish up my final 8 months of my undergrad degree! I plan on obtaining my MBA in the future as well, but really just want to jump right into the field after my Bachelors. After my internship with Boeing this summer in Colorado, I hope to gain some valuable experience that’ll help me start a great career in the industry!

I would encourage anyone to apply to this scholarship regardless of age or academic standing. Gary has created a wonderful opportunity for students to apply for aid and not worry about judgement based on GPA, age or income, unlike so many other scholarships opportunities.

Thank you, ONESHOT for helping me to achieve my goals!

Hello, my name is Sierra Cleland and I am one of the 2017 OneShot scholarship recipients. I graduated from Southern High School in Racine, Ohio. I am currently studying chemistry with a focus in pharmacy at Marshall University. Upon graduation, I plan to attend pharmacy school to achieve a doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences.

I am beyond grateful for the opportunity this scholarship has given me. I am able to study in a field of interest while attending a school that I love. One of my favorite features of this scholarship is that it is open to everyone, no matter your field of study, your location, or your financial status. Thank you to the ONESHOT Scholarship and the people who make it possible!

My name is Chandler Smith and I am from Corn, Oklahoma. I graduated from Corn Bible Academy in Corn, Oklahoma in 2015 and am now attending LeTourneau University in Longview Texas. I am majoring in Mission Aviation with a Flight Concentration and hope to be a missionary pilot after I graduate.

I have loved the thought of flying since I was very little and was hooked after I took my first flight in an airplane to Hawaii. I attended a week-long flight camp at the University of Oklahoma two times and I have now been at LeTourneau for two years. I will be going into my Junior year this Fall and will be working towards my multi-engine commercial pilot's rating.

The ONESHOT scholarship has greatly helped in furthering my education and dream to fly. I am very thankful for the opportunity to apply for and receive the ONESHOT scholarship. Thank you Gary Stanley and ONESHOT for making this scholarship possible!

My name is Raeline Reeves and I am a 2017 graduate of Meigs High School in Pomeroy, Ohio. Over the past four years, I have been involved in various activities (such as marching band, drama club, and, most recently, martial arts), but most of my endeavors have been purely academic. I was named a National Merit Commended Scholar and am one of four valedictorians at my high school. This fall, I will begin to pursue my bachelor’s degree at Ohio University.          One day, I hope to be a child psychologist practicing in a rural area like my hometown. I am so thankful to Gary Stanley and the ONESHOT Scholarship program for giving me an opportunity to express my passion for working with children, and for seeing me as more than just a girl with good grades.
